Ramadan in Abu Dhabi 2024 dates

Ramadan is a month-long journey for spiritual reflection that ends with EID celebrations. Check out the predicted start dates for Ramadan 2024

Get ready, folks! Ramadan 2024 is about to hit Abu Dhabi and it will be the first time for some years that it will fall in the winter months.

And it’s going to be a game-changer for everyone in the city.

This Holy Month is not just about dates on the calendar, which have yet to be confirmed; it’s a time when Muslims enter a more spiritual and physical dedication by way of fasting.

There will be no more munching or sipping from dawn till dusk, for a solid 29 or 30 days.

And guess what?

According to the stargazing experts, the grand kick-off is set for Monday, 11 March. Mark that on your calendar because it’s the starting line for a month-long journey of spiritual reflection and self-improvement.

Ibrahim Al Jarwan, the head at the Emirates Astronomical Society said that starting this year, Ramadan in Abu Dhabi and the UAE as a whole start during the winter season. Yep, you heard it right, winter vibes during Ramadan! It’s a rare treat that hasn’t happened in ages.

When is EID?

Eid al Adha expected dates

Now, for the planners out there, circle Wednesday, 10 April 102024, on your calendars. That’s the day Eid al Fitr is expected to make its grand entrance. SUB:

And you know what that means? A sweet week off from Monday, 8 April, to Friday, 12 April.

Plan your beach days or binge-watch sessions – you’ve earned it!

But here’s the thing: the exact start of Ramadan is not set in stone.

Religious scholars, under the cloak of night, decide when it all begins. It’s only when the Moon-sighting committee spots that elusive Ramadan crescent that the official start date gets the green light.

Oh, and heads up for those living the 9-to-5 grind – during Ramadan, working hours get a trim, and some daytime munch spots shut their doors temporarily.

Schools also hop on the short-hours train. It’s like the whole city takes a collective breather and dives into the Ramadan spirit.

So, buckle up, Abu Dhabi! Ramadan 2024 is rolling in with winter vibes, fasting challenges, and a week-long celebration on the horizon.
