UAE PUBLIC HOLIDAYS 2023: Six-day weekend likely during Eid al Adha holidays in 2023

Plan your Eid holidays early as UAE expects four more long weekends on Eid Al Adha 2023

If you had a blast during the four-day Eid al-Fitr weekend, then get ready for an even longer celebration for the next big Eid Al Adha UAE holidays 2023.

Now’s the time to finally push through with that long-planned vacation that has been postponed for far too long as a six-day break is likely on the way for the Eid al Adha celebration.

The UAE has announced the Eid al Adha holiday 2023 to fall on Dhul Hijjah 10-12 in the Islamic calendar, which depending on the Moon sighting will most likely correspond to Wednesday, 28 June, to Friday, 30 June.

Arafat Day, meanwhile, is set to take place on Tuesday, 27 June. This special day marks the second day of the week-long Hajj pilgrimage and also precedes Eid al Adha.

This means four consecutive UAE holidays from 27-30 June 2023. Considering that 1 and 2 July fall on a weekend, there is a possibility of a six-day break, which is just perfect for that much-needed getaway or staycation.

That’s not all! There are three more long weekends in the offing.

The Hijri New Year or the Islamic New Year is another UAE holiday that marks the beginning of a new lunar Hijri year. This year it will fall on Friday, 21 July, which means a three-day weekend.

Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) birthday will also fall on a Friday on 29 September, giving another three-day weekend to relax or spend with family and friends.

A three-day weekend is also expected towards the end of the year with Commemoration Day, previously known as Martyr’s Day, being celebrated on Friday December 1. This is followed by the UAE National Day celebrations on Saturday and Sunday, 2-3 December.

Have you got your UAE holidays sorted for 2023? There’s plenty that Abu Dhabi has to offer, whether it’s an adventure in Al Ain, a gorgeous staycation with the family, or even a getaway to some of the region’s best destinations.
