Start planning for the next UAE public holiday coming up this summer
If you’re anything like us, you’re probably already thinking about the next upcoming public holiday in the UAE!
Luckily for you, that’s not too far away.
According to the latest update from the Emirates Astronomy Society, the Day of Arafat will fall on 16 June, which means the following day will mark Eid Al Adha and a three-day public holiday in the UAE!

Alongside the previous Saturday-Sunday weekend (for those who have two days off!), this means a five-day long break. At least if the dates predicted stand true.

The Day of Arafat falls on the 9th day of Dhu al-Hijjah in the Islamic lunar calendar, which marks the Eid Al Adha break.
In the Islamic lunar calendar, Dhu al-Hijjah is the final month of the year and Eid Al Adha is historically a period of pilgrimage known as Hajj. This period is celebrated by Muslims across the world hence the need for public holidays surrounding this time of the year.
Hajj is a week-long event and Eid Al Adha falls on the third day.
While last year the same was a six-day long weekend in the UAE, this year could at least be a five-day off. And while we’re still coming off the back of the longest break of the year, we’re still counting on the next one!
