The region’s biggest celebration of all things film, TV, gaming, anime and comics is returning to Abu Dhabi
MEFCC is the largest gathering of pop culture covering all things film, comics, television, anime, cartoons, cosplay and more.
This epic event started in 2012 and quickly grew into one of the most anticipated festivals. This year’s edition, originally scheduled to take place at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi from 24 to 26 April 2026, has been postponed.
The festival is not only famed for its massive gatherings of experiences but also for its confirmed guests including Simu Liu, also known as Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Shang-Chi, also known as the Christopher Judge, the voice of Kratos in God of War among others.
Also, as anticipated, there will be elaborate cosplay going around the area and at the end of the weekend, there will be an award for the best costume and a chance to represent the UAE in an international cosplay competition. For gamers, there will be endless options of zones that feature your favourite electronic plays, plus a chance to compete in tournaments. Not only will there be e-games but the classic and retro games will be available to play.
