The Abu Dhabi Royal Equestrian Arts school will be the first one to open outside of Europe
Abu Dhabi will be witnessing the opening of something pretty special very soon: the Abu Dhabi Royal Equestrian Arts school.
Under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, the Abu Dhabi Royal Equestrian Arts (ADREA) school will open on 1 November 2025 on Jubail Island.
This is huge news for the city as this is only the fifth global school dedicated to the art of classical horsemanship and the first one to ever open outside of Europe. The first four schools are located in Austria, Spain, Portugal and France.
ADREA will be dedicated to the preservation, performance and teaching of the haute école tradition of equestrian art.
Spanning 65,000 square metres, the school features a climate-controlled arena that accommodates 1,200 spectators; 60 air-conditioned stables equipped with advanced monitoring systems; a veterinary facility and rehabilitation clinic; as well as training arenas and shaded riding tracks that provide an optimal setting for horses and athletes.
There will also be a Junior Academy to the four-year Rider Degree programme, welcoming young riders including Children of Determination.
But it’s not just about educating the next generation of equestrian artists. Committing itself to the preservation of the equestrian arts, The Furussiya Gallery will present a curated collection of rare artefacts tracing the history of horsemanship across diverse civilisations and centuries.
The school will also be home to one of the most extensive equestrian libraries in the world, housing more than 10,000 volumes. To top it all off, the UAE’s first equestrian saddle-making atelier will also revive and advance craftsmanship at the highest level.
