While we knew that rains and thunderstorms have been on the weather forecast in the UAE since last week, so far the country has only witnessed light showers at the start of the week.
However, in light of the adverse weather conditions expected over the coming days, UAE authorities have announced a special media briefing on Thursday, 7 March at 5pm.

The joint briefing will be held by the National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA), the Ministry of Interior and the National Center for Meteorology (NCM).
Following a wet spell at the start of this week, the NCM has forecast more rains accompanied by thunder and lightning from Thursday night to Sunday.
With the thunderstorms coming, several events across the UAE are being cancelled, including the likes of the Middle East Football Championship likely to be one of them – a source close to the organisers confirms.
