A new exhibition at the NYUAD Art Gallery maps the realms of various local artists’ minds and invites families to explore these landscapes together and take an imaginative journey through everyday life artfully.
Four GCC-based artists have been commissioned to explore and to map the landscape of their minds artistically and Speculative Landscapes is the result. In this series of installations, each artist explores the very concept of environment (natural, artificial, virtual).
In the exhibition, parents will find a unique medium to engage their children in numerous topics that weigh heavy on many of our minds, such as the natural environment, the role that social media plays in our lives, and what’s real vs. what’s artificial. Allow art to help you talk to your children about tough topics in a playful and fun new way!
Family Fun Days
NYUAD Art Gallery invites children of all ages and their families to discover the Gallery’s changing exhibitions and participate together in artful activities led by a trained educator. Each activity connects to a brand-new idea, medium, or theme explored by an artist currently exhibited in the museum. Projects are suitable from toddler to teen with a wide range of interests and abilities.
Join the NYUAD Art Gallery team for short, interactive family tours of kid-friendly works on view! Learn about art together through lively discussion and fun gallery activities.
NYUAD Art Gallery Family Saturdays occur every Saturday at 2 pm and last one hour. The suggested age range is 4-12. To take part, you must register in advance and note that there are limited spaces for each workshop. Register at Nyuad-artgallery.org
