Artist, blogger and film curator Hind Mezaina is curating a series of short films in partnership with Alliance Française Dubai.
The series will kick off at Alliance Française Dubai with productions that focus on Dubai through short films and music videos.
A Fallible Girl – 12 June
A Fallible Girl by Conrad Clark is a film about two Chinese women who are best friends that start a mushroom farm in a desert environment and the obstacles they face along the way in furthering their enterprise.
A discussion with Professor Yuting Wang follows the film and will focus on the film and her latest book, Chinese in Dubai: Money, Pride and Soul-Searching.
The show starts at 5pm and is AED 35.
Selection of 12 short films – 13 June
Experience Dubai through local short films and music videos by two Dubai based filmmakers, Amirah Tajdin and Philip Jamal Rachid who will take part in a Q&A and talk about the challenges of making personal artistic projects compared to producing commercial work.
This free viewing starts at 7pm.
