International Cartoonist Matt Smith is back at Art Central with two comics-making workshops for kids, teens and adults!
Course 1: Making Better Comics (Kids/Teens)
Students will learn how to create their own unique comic book characters and look at the different types of comic book panels.
Schedule: 4:00pm – 6:00pm on Saturday, 19th January
Course 2: Making Stronger Comics (Teens/Adults)
Cartoonist Matt Smith shows you how to take your comic pages to the next level! Participants will look at the different types of comic book panels and explore how an understanding of the flow of the page can make great comics.
Schedule: 6:00pm – 8:00pm on Saturday, 19th January
*Each workshop is priced at AED250 per person inclusive of all materials needed. No previous comics experience is necessary. The workshops are perfect for students who are new to comics and for anyone who attended Matt Smith’s last workshop at Art Central.

About Matt Smith
Matt Smith is a British/Canadian cartoonist, filmmaker and educator. He has lived all over the world including Malaysia, Japan and Kuwait. He is currently based in the city of Al Ain, in the United Arab Emirates where he continues to create comics and facilitate comic workshops. Matt has taken his comics workshops to schools, comic conventions and art galleries in Canada, Scotland, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Mexico, Germany and Ethiopia.
