Today the people of the UAE are being called upon to converge to celebrate ‘Flag Day’.

Taking place every 3 November, this national campaign is designed to celebrate the anniversary of the accession of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan as President of the UAE.

All Emiratis and residents are being urged to participate in the event and called upon government entities and departments as well as ministries to hoist the national flag on buildings at 10 am.

Authorities have said that: “Flag Day instils in us a sense of our national identity, reflecting our values, loyalty, and sense of belonging to our beloved homeland.

“It also fills us with pride to reflect on the UAE’s progress and achievements driven by our wise leadership and established by our pioneering forefathers, who dedicated their lives to securing a prosperous future for the Emirati people and all who reside on this land.”

All schools in the region will also be partaking in the national campaign where kids of all ages will take time out of their schedule to raise a flag to the nation.

Flag Day takes place in November every year and precedes the official National Day celebrations which also urges people to come together to pay homage to the UAE.
