This is the last chance saloon for athletes to qualify for the Paris Olympics in July

Even though a certain Cristiano Ronaldo and Co. may be hogging the limelight over the coming week when the Saudi Super Cup comes to the capital on the 8 April, there are other events of note catching the eye too.

The Mubadala Arena in Abu Dhabi is set to come alive between 19-24 May when judokas from all over the world descend on the capital for the Abu Dhabi World Judo Championships.

Organised by the International Judo Federation and the UAE Judo Federation, the event welcomes judokas from over 100 nations vying for coveted spots in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

This event is expected to attract a diverse audience to witness thrilling competitions across seven weight categories for both men and women.

Winners from both individual and team events stand to earn substantial amounts of money, further intensifying the stakes at the highly anticipated event.

Now marking its 37th edition, the tournament is also the last chance for athletes to qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games which will commence in the European capital from 27 July.
