PARTNER CONTENT: It’s official, Abu Dhabi is bringing home massive events and bigger stars than we can keep up!

If massive food festivals and concerts weren’t enough, the UAE capital is now all set to bring its own annual comedy festival, Abu Dhabi Comedy Week. From 18-26 May, the emirate-wide celebration of laughter will kick start at Etihad Arena – Yas Island.

Comedians Andrew Santino and Bobby Lee have now joined the crew, and will celebrate the success of their hit podcast, Bad Friends, which showcases the dynamic and sometimes “contentious” relationship between Lee and Santino, providing audiences with a hilarious and entertaining glimpse into their world.

The week-long extravaganza will bring the best of comedic talent, both legends and rising to the emirate, starting with none other than Aziz Ansari. An award-winning actor, director, writer, and comedian, the star broke onto the scene with his role as Tom Haverford on the NBC series Parks and Recreation.

And now, the multi-talented artist is all set to bring his unique comedic style to the stage at Etihad Arena – Yas Island on 18 May. We can’t wait!

Next up in the line-up reveal is Tom Segura! A comedian, actor, and writer, Tom is easily one of the biggest names in the comedy business, ready to take Abu Dhabi by storm come 25 May.

Best known for his Netflix specials Ball Hog (2020), Disgraceful (2018), Mostly Stories (2016), and Completely Normal (2014) to name a few, you’re sure to leave his set in splits!

The latest addition to the initial line-up has also been revealed, and it’s none other than Jo Koy! Slated to perform on 26 May, Koy’s uniquely relatable comedy pulls inspiration from his colourful family that has reached all kinds of people and has translated into sold-out arenas around the world. Koy continues breaking sales records at some of the most prestigious venues around the world.

There’s a line-up update for Abu Dhabi Comedy Week!

Humor has it that the line-up just got a major update with iconic American stand-up comedian and actor Chris Tucker will be taking to the stage on 25 May!

Renowned for his boundless energy and impeccable comedic timing, the funnyman will be performing a late show following the hilarious Tom Segura. Chris first captured audiences’ hearts in the 1990s with his appearances on the HBO comedy series Def Comedy Jam. Since then, he has starred in numerous hit films including “Friday,” “The Fifth Element,” “Money Talks,” and the much-loved “Rush Hour” series alongside the iconic Jackie Chan.

And if that wasn’t enough, there’s another massive entry on the Abu Dhabi Comedy Week line-up with American stand-up comedian, actor, and podcaster Andrew Schulz! The star is returning to the UAE capital once more, all set to light up the arena on 22 May.

A New York native and internationally touring stand-up comic and podcaster, Andrew Schulz is known for his hilarious and unfiltered comedy. Schulz capped off his last North American tour, Infamous, by selling out the 6,000-seat Radio City Music Hall twice in one night. In addition to the 150,000+ fans who came out to the tour, Schulz’s stand up and podcast content receives 12 million views across YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok per week.

Adding to the fantastic talent that week are the renowned comedians Bassem Youssef and Maz Jobrani will join forces for a side-splitting show on 24 May, bringing with them a whole host of laughs and their unique brand of unmistakable humour.

A surgeon turned comedian, Bassem is known for his sharp wit and insightful commentary. He was the host of Al Bernameg, the first political satire show in the Middle East that grew in popularity and reached 30 million viewers a week. As for Maz Jobranim the global comedian and actor has performed in the UAE several times in the past, now returning to delight audiences once more.
