
Thomas Kinnersley will join Nord Anglia International School Abu Dhabi as Principal for the 2026-27 academic year, following an internal appointment from Compass International School Doha
Families at Nord Anglia International School Abu Dhabi (NAS Abu Dhabi) will be greeting a familiar face from within the Nord Anglia family this autumn, as Thomas Kinnersley steps into the role of Principal at the start of the 2026-27 academic year.
Kinnersley joins the Al Reem Island school from Compass International School Doha, where he has served as Head of Secondary, leading provision across two campuses. He replaces outgoing Principal Liam Cullinan, who is returning to the UK.
The internal appointment sees Kinnersley move from Qatar to take the helm of one of the capital’s leading British-curriculum schools.

NAS Abu Dhabi, part of the global Nord Anglia family of 89 schools in 37 countries, caters for pupils aged 3 to 18 and is known for its inclusive community, strong pastoral care and focus on academic excellence, wellbeing and global citizenship.
Kinnersley brings more than a decade of senior leadership experience across the Middle East and the UK, and holds a Master’s in International Education from King’s College London.
