School’s back! Abu Dhabi teachers and students to return to class

It is the first time that lessons will take place in the classroom since the winter break.

Students and teachers in Abu Dhabi are heading back to the classroom on 14 February as schools reopen.

It will be the first time schools have opened their doors for face-to-face classes since the winter academic term resumed after the festive break.

The Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Committee announced the move on its twitter feed.

Schools had been closed at the start of the term and online learning programmes put in place due to the pandemic.

The committee approved the resumption of in-classroom education for all grades in Abu Dhabi but has also included an e-learning option until the end of school year.

The committee also said that the safety of schooling community remains a top priority for the committee and 60 per cent of educators and school staff have received the first dose of a vaccine during a vaccination campaign across the emirate.
