The revamped menu boasts classics like bruschetta, fritto misto, burratina Mediteranea and more
Who doesn’t love authentic Italian fare? Well, we certainly do and already there are a handful of venues serving up true, Italian dishes in the capital.
And of course, the popular Marco’s Italian, located at the Fairmont Bab Al Bahr, is no exception.
Now taking it to the next level, this rather stunning and stylish restaurant has unveiled its rather delicious new menu just filled with authentic Italian dishes, all of which are said to be inspired by Italian conviviality with a touch of modernity.
As you’d expect from a restaurant of this calibre, only the freshest, genuine ingredients are used to create some superb dishes such as, to name a few, bruschetta and fritto misto, alongside more unique options like burratina Mediteranean, a delightful dish made with milk cheese imported directly from Italy.
Since opening, Marco’s Italian has marked the capital with its modern and insightful take on family-style Italian cuisine, all created by the renowned British chef Marco Pierre White.
And the redesigned menu, created by Italian Chef Giampaolo Maffini, promises to immerse your senses in a traditional and regional culinary experience.
Menu delights
The dishes, that are served for lunch and dinner, come straight from the heart of Italy and aim to tease and tantalise like never before. “I believe that Italian cuisine is not just about recipes; it’s about the passion and love that go into every dish,” said Chef Giampaolo. As a native of Pavia, he is behind the first Italian restaurant of the hotel and has since opened and operated Italian restaurants around the world.
And lucky for us, the chef has returned to the Fairmont Bab Al Bahr with his signature dishes, such as the classic penne all’arrabiata, spicy and full of flavour, and the comforting lasagne, layered with rich ragu and creamy bechamel sauce.
The Chef Signature dish, the Ravioli Burrata e Pomodoro, is a unique take on the classic ravioli, with fresh pasta enveloping a delicious filling of creamy Burrata cheese and sweet tomatoes, all served with a buttery sage sauce. Tuck into the main course with delectable dishes such as ossobuco, a must-try that’s slow-cooked to perfection and served with saffron risotto.
A pizza this
There’s no Italian without pizza ands when it’s as authentic as these ones, you just know you’ll be back for more. Choose from classic Margherita and Calzone , as well as tartufo e porcini, a mouth-watering combination of truffle and porcini mushrooms.
There’s certainly no show without desserts and the sweet list definitely doesn’t disappoint!
Savour Sicilian cannoli, a crispy pastry filled with sweet ricotta cheese and chocolate chips, and the velvety panna cotta, served with a berry compote. And of course, no Italian meal is complete without tiramisu or gelato, directly from Italy.
