Abu Dhabi’s Yas Waterworld just broke a Guinness World Record

Yas Waterworld Guinness Book of World Record holder

Another incredible record for Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi has never been shy about breaking records, and now one of its most-loved attractions has added another title to the list.

Yas Waterworld Yas Island has officially been recognised by Guinness World Records as the waterpark with the most waterslides in the world, thanks to its incredible collection of 55 slides.

It’s a huge achievement for the park and one that makes your next visit even more exciting.

Whether you’re someone who heads straight for the biggest drop or prefers floating along while everyone else screams, there’s now more choice than ever.

The new title follows Yas Waterworld’s recent expansion, which added 11 brand-new rides, slides and attractions to the park.

Rayan Al Haddar, General Manager at Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi, said: “We are incredibly proud to receive the Guinness World Records™ title for the most waterslides in a waterpark, marking another major milestone for Yas Waterworld Yas Island, Abu Dhabi.

“The addition of our newest attractions, including the UAE’s tallest waterslide, reflects our ongoing commitment to delivering innovative and world-class experiences for our guests.

“With a record-breaking collection of 55 waterslides, Yas Waterworld continues to strengthen its position as a leading global waterpark, offering unforgettable experiences for families, friends, and thrill-seekers alike.”

One of the biggest new additions is Matamir’s Drop, which now proudly holds the title of the UAE’s tallest waterslide.

It’s definitely one for the thrill-seekers, delivering a seriously adrenaline-fuelled experience from the very top to the splashdown below.

But don’t worry if towering drops aren’t your thing. Yas Waterworld has always been about offering something for everyone.

Alongside its record-breaking slides, you’ll find wave pools, lazy rivers, splash zones for little ones, high-speed racing slides and family-friendly attractions that make it just as enjoyable for younger visitors as it is for adrenaline junkies.

In total, the park is now home to more than 70 rides, slides and attractions, all inspired by the Emirati tale of The Legend of the Lost Pearl.

It’s this unique storytelling that sets Yas Waterworld apart, weaving local heritage into every corner of the park while creating an experience that’s much more immersive than your average waterpark.

From world-class theme parks and attractions to concerts, sporting events and family experiences, the island continues to grow, and this latest achievement only adds to its appeal.

So, if your summer plans involve sunshine, splashdowns and seeing how many slides you can tick off in a single day, there’s officially no better place to do it.

The only real challenge now is deciding which of the 55 waterslides to tackle first.
