Glowing performances, silent discos and plenty of family fun this summer
If you’re looking for a way to escape the summer heat without spending another weekend at the mall, SeaWorld Yas Island Abu Dhabi has just the answer.
The much-loved Electric Ocean Festival has made its return from this summer, transforming the marine life theme park into a glowing underwater playground packed with live entertainment, music and immersive experiences for all ages.
Back for another summer, the festival promises even more neon, more performances and plenty of new surprises, making it one of the standout family events on Abu Dhabi’s seasonal calendar.
As soon as the sun goes down, Electric Ocean takes over the park with dazzling lights, colourful decorations and live entertainment inspired by the beauty of the ocean.
The heart of the action is the One Ocean realm, where energetic performances bring the space to life.
Visitors can expect everything from high-energy drummers and talented aerial acrobats to breakdancers and SeaWorld’s much-loved characters, all performing beneath a spectacular display of lights.
One of this year’s biggest additions is an immersive silent disco.
Slip on a pair of glowing headphones, choose your music channel and dance away while everyone around you does exactly the same.
It might look a little funny from the outside, but it’s all part of the experience, and it’s guaranteed to get everyone smiling.
The festival also brings back some returning favourites, including glow-in-the-dark face painting and interactive art stations where children can create colourful ocean-inspired masterpieces to take home.
Throughout the festival, the park will stay open daily from 10am until 8pm, giving visitors extra time to enjoy the rides, animal encounters, attractions and evening entertainment before heading home.
Whether you’re planning a full family day out or simply dropping in for the evening shows, the extended hours make it much easier to fit into your summer plans.
While Electric Ocean is all about colourful performances, there’s also an important message behind the festival.
The event celebrates SeaWorld Abu Dhabi’s One Ocean story, encouraging visitors to learn more about the connection between people and marine life while raising awareness about ocean conservation.
It’s a fun way to mix entertainment with education, proving that a family day out can also inspire the next generation to care for the world’s oceans.
If you’re looking to add something different to your summer bucket list, Electric Ocean is definitely worth checking out.
With glowing shows, lively entertainment, interactive activities and cooler indoor temperatures, it might just become your new favourite way to spend a summer evening in Abu Dhabi.
