Temporary measure offers relief for residents stranded overseas as airlines gradually resume limited flights

Expatriates whose UAE residency visas expired while they were outside the country are now allowed to return without obtaining a new entry permit, authorities confirmed.
The decision applies to residents whose visas expired due to exceptional circumstances that prevented them from travelling back on time.

The measure is valid until 31 March, giving affected residents a window to return and regularise their residency status once they arrive in the UAE.

At the same time, UAE carriers including Emirates, Etihad Airways, flydubai, and Air Arabia are operating reduced or limited flight schedules as airspace restrictions continue to ease.
Passengers are advised to confirm bookings before travelling to the airport, monitor official airline updates, and remain cautious of fake accounts offering refunds or ticket assistance.
Airlines stress that travellers should rely only on verified channels while planning their journey back to the UAE.
