A rain alert: Wet weather is expected across the UAE until Tuesday

Get ready to grab your umbrellas – the UAE is set for a few rainy days!

According to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), rainfall is expected across various parts of the country until 18 Tuesday February.

So, if you love cosy weather, now’s the time to enjoy it.

Where will it rain in the UAE?

The forecast predicts partly cloudy to cloudy skies, with light to moderate rainfall expected, especially in coastal, northern, and eastern regions.

While showers are likely to be scattered, some areas could experience stronger bursts of rain, making for cooler and fresher conditions across the UAE.

Will there be wind and rough seas?

Winds are expected to be northeasterly to northwesterly, ranging from light to moderate, but occasionally picking up and causing dust in some inland areas.

For those heading out to sea, waves in the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea could become rough at times, particularly during cloud activity.

What’s causing the rain in the UAE?

This bout of wet weather is being driven by an upper-air jet stream from the west, combined with a surface low-pressure system extending from the southwest.

These conditions are leading to increased cloud cover and the possibility of more showers over the next few days.

What to expect?

  • Cloudy skies and cooler temperatures
  • Light to moderate rainfall in some areas
  • Dusty conditions inland due to fresh winds
  • Rough seas in the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea

While the rain won’t last forever, it’s the perfect excuse to enjoy a cosy café day, a rainy drive, or just a refreshing break from the usual sunshine.

Stay tuned for updates, and if you’re out and about, don’t forget to pack a jacket just in case!
