Delivery drivers also to be assigned dedicated parking spots
This is all right!
New traffic rules have been rolled out for delivery motorcyclists in Abu Dhabi.
The Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) announced on its social media channels that delivery motorcyclists are no longer allowed to use the left lane on some roads in Abu Dhabi.
Delivery riders are now only permitted to use the right lanes on roads with speed limits of 100 km/h and above.
Therefore, on three and four-lane roads they can only ride on the furthest two right lanes; on five-lane highways, delivery motorcyclists will only be able to use three lanes from the right side.
The latest move is part of new traffic rules aimed at ensuring the safety of delivery bike riders.

The new safety plans include designated parking areas for delivery bikes, with more than 2,800 spots planned in Abu Dhabi and 200 in Al Ain.
The ITC will also develop partnerships with companies operating in the delivery sector to provide continuous training for drivers and motorcyclists and fine-tune their skills.
A number of summer initiatives are also planned, aimed at ensuring the welfare of riders by providing them with permanent rest stops in certain areas, which will be launched in Abu Dhabi as the first phase.
In recent weeks, there have been a number of new initiatives to keep road users safe in Abu Dhabi, from bigger fines for speeding and, in some places, the reduction of speed limits on some of the capital’s major roads.
