Here’s all you need to know about Abu Dhabi’s newest farmer’s market

Don’t wait until it’s too late as Mina Zayed Wholesale Farmers’ Market is only open until May

Looking for a great place to buy fresh and locally grown produce?

Abu Dhabi’s newest wholesale farmer’s market at Zayed Port is now open for business where both wholesalers and retailers have easy access to an array of fruits, vegetables, meats, dairy products and other farm produce direct from Abu Dhabi farms.

But don’t wait until it’s too late. Mina Zayed Wholesale Farmers’ Market is only open until May, so don’t miss out on this opportunity to grab the freshest produce, while also supporting Abu Dhabi’s local farmers.

Open daily from 1pm to 10pm, the wholesale farmer’s market has 13 marketing outlets catering to 20 local farmers. It can deliver up to 20 tonnes of agricultural products daily.

The initiative aims to support small-scale agricultural producers of both plant and animal products, boost the competitiveness of local goods and make them more accessible to consumers, according to the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA), the main sponsor of the market. The market is managed by Silal, a subsidiary of the ADQ Holding Company.

The new market is part of Abu Dhabi’s continuing efforts to connect farmers directly to consumers. ADAFSA earlier opened a farmer’s market in Al Wathba in November, providing a unique venue where local farmers can sell products directly to consumers within 24 hours of harvest.

Mina Zayed Wholesale Farmers’ Market also follows the directives of H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of the Presidential Court, and Chairman of the Board of ADAFSA. Saeed Al Bahri Salem Al Ameri, Director-General of ADAFSA, said that the farmer’s markets that have been opened recently are in line with Sheikh Mansour’s commitment to advance the agricultural industry and boost the income of Abu Dhabi’s farmers.
