The Integrated Transport Centre (Abu Dhabi Mobility) has announced adjustments to the heavy vehicle movement restrictions during Ramadan in Abu Dhabi to ensure smoother traffic flow across the city.
The updated schedule will apply to trucks, tankers, and other heavy equipment operating on Abu Dhabi City roads.
Under the new timings, the ban on heavy vehicles will be in effect from Monday to Thursday between 8am and 10am, and then again from 2pm to 4pm. On Fridays, the restriction will run from 8am until 1pm.
These changes have been carefully planned to reduce congestion during peak hours, particularly in areas that typically experience high traffic volumes during the morning and afternoon.

The move comes as part of Abu Dhabi’s ongoing efforts to enhance road safety and manage traffic efficiently, especially during Ramadan when commuting patterns often shift due to altered work hours and cultural practices.

Motorists are also reminded that changes to toll and parking regulations across the city will be implemented during Ramadan, so they should check for updated fees and timings to avoid fines.
