The 46,000-square-metre park on Al Bateen Street is packed with colourful murals created by local artists and the wider community. Look out for Jack Lee’s dog mural, created to celebrate Abu Dhabi’s first Pet Zone, as well as the striking Mother Portal mural.

But there’s more than just art to discover. The park is a lively destination for live music, skateboarding, outdoor movies and plenty of food, making it a great place to spend a few hours whether you’re after a relaxed afternoon or a fun evening out

Umm Al Emarat Park

Umm Al Emarat Park is one of those Abu Dhabi spots where you can easily spend an entire afternoon. One of the capital’s oldest and largest parks, this 15-hectare green space is packed with family-friendly attractions, beautiful gardens, entertainment and places to eat.
Little ones can meet camels, ponies, goats and other animals at the Animal Barn, while the Children’s Garden offers plenty of space to play and explore.

Nature lovers can wander through the Botanic Garden, home to more than 200 regional plant species, or visit the impressive Shade House, which creates a special environment for its collection of plants.

There’s also the Great Lawn, Amphitheatre, Evening Garden and Wisdom Garden, plus outdoor fitness sessions and family activities throughout the year.

Family Park

Al Hisn, Abu Dhabi

Family Park is a lovely all-rounder on Abu Dhabi’s Corniche, with plenty to keep everyone entertained.

Kids can make a beeline for the playgrounds and toddlers’ village, complete with a pirate-ship climbing frame, mini train and slides, while older kids can hit the skateboard and BMX ramps.

There’s also a farm, theatre and ByKy bike hire, so you can easily spend a few hours exploring at your own pace. When it’s time to refuel, Colombiano Kid’s Cafeteria serves up family favourites including pizza, pasta and burgers.

Running alongside the eastern end of the Corniche, the park is also a great spot for a relaxed evening stroll, with winding paths, fountains and plenty of green space.

Come sunset, grab a spot at one of the designated barbecue areas and enjoy the views as the sky lights up over the Corniche.

Spread across 27,500 square metres, the park is home to more than 2,000 types of local flora, including the UAE’s national tree, the ghaf.

Designed entirely around plants, grasses and bushes native to the region, Al Fay creates a peaceful, forest-like setting where you can wander beneath a canopy of green, listen to birdsong and enjoy a breath of fresh air.

But there’s plenty to do beyond taking in the scenery.
