The new exhibition invites you to build, play and explore 13.8 billion years of natural history
What do you get when you mix 13.8 billion years of natural history with a mountain of LEGO bricks? A brand-new Abu Dhabi exhibition where science gets a seriously playful makeover.
LEGO® SHOWS Natural Brickstory is coming to Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi on 21 August, inviting visitors of all ages to explore the story of our planet, its wildlife and the universe through building, creating and getting hands-on.
And this isn’t an exhibition where you’re simply expected to stand back and admire the displays.
Natural Brickstory is designed to get visitors involved, with a series of interactive LEGO building experiences spread across themed zones inspired by Earth’s history, animals and the cosmos.
The idea is to take some pretty big scientific concepts and make them easier and much more fun to explore.
Visitors will be encouraged to work together on LEGO builds, experiment with different ideas and discover more about the natural world as they go.
So whether you’re a lifelong LEGO fan who can spot a rare brick from across the room or someone who hasn’t built anything since childhood, there should be plenty to get stuck into.
The exhibition is also designed with curious minds of all ages in mind, making it a particularly fun option for families looking for something a little different to do in Abu Dhabi.
Natural Brickstory will also feature interactive trails and workshops, with further activities and highlights set to be revealed in the coming weeks.
And because the exhibition is taking place inside Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi, you can make a full day of it rather than treating it as a quick visit.
Once you’ve finished building, visitors can explore the museum’s wider galleries and discover its impressive collection of specimens and immersive experiences. There are also dining and retail options on site, meaning there’s plenty to keep the whole family occupied.
The exhibition also ties neatly into the museum’s wider mission of encouraging curiosity about the natural world, using creativity and play as a way to introduce visitors to science and inspire the next generation of explorers.
LEGO® SHOWS Natural Brickstory opens on 21 August and will be available for a limited time, making it one to add to your Abu Dhabi plans while it’s here.
So, whether your little ones are obsessed with LEGO, dinosaurs, animals, space or simply love getting their hands busy, this could be a brilliant way to combine a family day out with a little learning, without it feeling like homework.
Suitable for families, children and LEGO fans of all ages. Opens 21 August, Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi. The museum will be open from 10am to 6.30pm on weekdays, with extended hours until 8.30pm on weekends. For further information, visit nhmad.ae
