The world-renowned contemporary art fair arrives at Manarat Al Saadiyat

Abu Dhabi’s art scene is about to welcome one of the world’s biggest names.

Frieze Abu Dhabi will make its regional debut this year, bringing together leading international galleries, celebrated artists and exciting new talent for four days of world-class contemporary art.

Presented in partnership with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, the fair marks a major milestone for the emirate’s growing cultural landscape.

Joining Frieze’s internationally renowned events in London, Los Angeles, New York and Seoul, the Abu Dhabi edition further cements the capital’s place as one of the world’s emerging arts destinations.

When is Frieze Abu Dhabi?

Frieze Abu Dhabi is set to happen from 19 to 22 November 2026 at Manarat Al Saadiyat, on Saadiyat Island.

What can you expect from Frieze Abu Dhabi?

This will be more than just a traditional art fair. Alongside exhibitions from leading galleries around the world, the inaugural edition will feature a series of specially curated sections designed to celebrate both international and regional creativity.

Among the highlights is Frieze Masters Abu Dhabi, curated by Dr Marika Sardar, which will explore historical works spanning Islamic, South Asian and global artistic traditions.

Meanwhile, Global Futures, curated by Tarini Malik, will shine a spotlight on emerging and mid-career artists whose work reflects the rich cultural conversations taking place across the UAE and the wider West Asia region.

The programme also includes the inaugural Frieze Abu Dhabi Artist Award, featuring a major new commission curated by Nabila Abdel Nabi, Senior Curator of International Art at Tate Modern.

Another standout is In Dialogue, a new exhibition curated by Dirwaza Curatorial Lab that pairs established artists with emerging UAE-based creatives, creating fresh conversations between generations and artistic practices.

If you enjoy hearing directly from the people shaping the global art world, be sure to check out the Frieze Abu Dhabi Talks programme, which will run daily throughout the fair.

You can expect engaging discussions, artist conversations and insights from leading curators, collectors and cultural figures.
