This exciting service allows cats and dogs to travel in the cabin with their owners
Etihad Airways is making it a little easier, and a lot more welcoming, for guests who don’t want to travel without their pets.
The airline has introduced a special limited-time promotion for its ‘Pets Onboard’ service, reflecting the growing number of travellers who see their cats and dogs as part of the journey, not just something left at home.
The offer runs for bookings and travel until 31 May 2026, with a reduced fee of USD 399 per flight segment.
It’s designed to make in-cabin pet travel more accessible while still keeping the same focus on safety, comfort, and care that Etihad builds its service around.
What really sets Etihad apart is that it remains the only airline in the UAE where small pets can actually travel in the cabin with their owners.
Instead of being separated in the cargo hold, cats and dogs can stay close by throughout the flight, which naturally makes the whole experience calmer for both pets and their humans.

Of course, there are a few rules in place to keep things smooth for everyone onboard. Pets travel in an approved carrier for the entire flight.
In Economy, that carrier fits neatly under the seat in front of you. If you want a bit more breathing room, you can book an extra seat for your pet so they have more space to settle in.
In Business Class, pets are also accommodated with an additional seat, giving them a more spacious setup for the journey.
It’s all part of Etihad’s approach to making sure pets are safe, comfortable, and not just tolerated, but genuinely considered during travel planning.
Etihad’s team also helps guests behind the scenes, guiding them through the paperwork and preparation before the trip.
From required documents to booking coordination, the idea is to make the process feel less complicated and more like a checklist than a challenge.
This promotion is really about recognising something simple: for many travellers, pets aren’t just companions, they’re part of the family.
And Etihad is trying to make sure they can come along for the ride.
