The UAE has announced schools and universities will switch to distance learning until Wednesday
In response to the recent events in the UAE and across the GCC, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research have announced distance learning to start from Monday across the country.
For now, the measure is in place from Monday, 2 March 2026, until Wednesday, 4 March 2026, but it’s subject to ongoing assessment of the situation.
This will apply to students and teaching and administrative staff across all public and private schools in the UAE. It also applies to universities nationwide.

The announcement was made via their official social media channels, stating: “The Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced that studies will shift to distance learning from Monday, 2 March 2026, until Wednesday, 4 March 2026, for students and teaching and administrative staff across all public and private schools and universities nationwide.”
Other official warnings in the UAE
In response to ongoing events, UAE authorities have asked residents to exercise precaution and shelter in place where necessary.
The UAE airspace remains closed, following an earlier announcement by the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA).
UAE authorities have also warned residents against publishing or circulating rumours or information from unknown sources, which could lead to legal consequences, asking residents to rely on official channels only.
The Ministry of Economy & Tourism has also asked residents to exercise awareness and responsibility when shopping for supplies, and reiterating that markets in the UAE continue to be stable and resilient.
