Flowers are set do more than just bloom this January and February as Artbooth Gallery have revealed their latest awe-inspiring exhibition.
From 15 January to 15 February, Soraya Abu Naba’a’s solo exhibition, Encoded in Petals, invites you into a world where flowers aren’t just decoration, they’re vessels of memory, resilience, and ancestral knowledge.
Spanning painting, sculpture, textiles, and installations, Abu Naba’a’s work draws from her experiences across the Caribbean, Middle East, Europe, and the U.S., creating a visual language that fuses abstraction, craft, and ecological awareness.
Every petal, stem, and textile fold tells a story, reflecting themes of adaptation, vulnerability, and interconnection. Think of it as a sensory journey through nature, memory, and history.
The exhibition is structured around the four seasons – Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter – turning the gallery into a vibrant, colour-filled landscape.
Textile installations act as thresholds between seasonal zones, offering visitors an immersive experience where each space feels alive with texture, pattern, and movement.
From abstract rivers and topographies to delicate veins of petals, Abu Naba’a shows that nature is never just a backdrop, it’s a witness, a teacher, and a guide.

Meet the artist
Abu Naba’a’s artistic journey is as fascinating as her work. Born in Florida to Arab parents and raised in the Dominican Republic, she moved through Paris, Florence, New York, and London to study art, absorbing influences from every corner of the globe.
Her family’s history as textile merchants and art dealers informs her deep attention to materiality, colour, and narrative, making her work a bridge between personal memory and collective history.
Encoded in Petals prompts a conversation about how we engage with nature, heritage, and creativity. Visitors are invited to explore, reflect, and discover the knowledge embedded in every line, colour, and fold.
The opening reception takes place on 15 January from 7pm-9pm, with the artist in attendance, giving guests the chance to meet the mind behind the petals.
