Abu Dhabi will have the first UAE hospital-based vertiport for flying taxis

Getting to the hospital is about to get a lot quicker

Archer, the company behind the Abu Dhabi flying taxis, has announced their latest vertiport location – and it’s none other than Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi.

This new partnership means that patients wanting to access medical services at the Al Maryah Island hospital can use Archer’s flying taxis to get there in just minutes.

The eVTOLs (electric vertical takeoff and landing) will be used not just for non-emergency passengers, but also for time-critical organ transport.

This is the second vertiport in Abu Dhabi announced by the company, following the news that Archer eVTOLs will be flying in and out of the Abu Dhabi Cruise Terminal.

Bryan Bernhard, Chief Growth & Infrastructure Officer at Archer, explained: “This partnership showcases the breadth of Archer’s network vision – connecting not just places, but pillars of life in Abu Dhabi.

“Following our first hybrid vertiport approval at the Abu Dhabi Cruise Terminal earlier this year, this next location demonstrates how Archer and the GCAA are working together to unlock a city-wide ecosystem for advanced air mobility.”

Expanding on the announcement, Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi’s CEO, Dr. Georges-Pascal Haber, said: “We are excited about the partnership with Archer to advance access to Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi’s patient-centered care.

“This new mode of emission-free transport aligns with Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi’s commitment to sustainability, gives additional options to many patients travelling to our hospital for care, and provides our thriving organ transplant program with fast logistics.”
