Umm Al Emarat Park & Tadweer Group launches new sustainability initiative

A tiny cap, a giant step for sustainability!

Umm Al Emarat Park has teamed up with Tadweer Group to launch a quirky yet powerful new initiative called ‘Cap Your Way to Sustainability.’

The goal? Simple: rally the community to collect and donate bottle caps, yes, those small, often overlooked plastic tops, and transform them into big environmental wins.

Running for six months, this fun and impactful campaign is calling on residents across Abu Dhabi to make bottle cap collection part of their everyday eco-routine. The message is clear: even the smallest acts can lead to meaningful change.

Where to drop your caps?

The Park itself will serve as a primary drop-off point, with several convenient locations across the city also collecting:

Umm Al Emarat Park Main Gate

Totó Restaurant, Saadiyat Island

Al Raha Beach C2 Tower

Three mobile drop-boxes managed by Tadweer Group, which will pop up across schools and community events in Abu Dhabi and the Western Region.

So, whether you’re heading out for a bite or dropping the kids off at school, there’s always a spot nearby to make your cap contribution.

What happens to the caps?

These colourful caps aren’t just trash; they’re the start of something much bigger. Collected caps will be part of a larger, city-wide community activation planned for the end of the year.

While details are still under wraps, organisers promise an exciting finale that celebrates the efforts of every eco-hero who participates.

This campaign builds on an earlier partnership between Umm Al Emarat Park and Tadweer Group.

The two organisations signed an MoU earlier this year to drive environmental awareness and improve waste management services through joint activities and education.

The Park has already been playing a major role in sustainability education. It currently hosts two of Tadweer Group’s Reverse Vending Machines (RVMs); a clever innovation that lets you recycle empty plastic bottles and aluminum cans for rewards via the Tadweer Rewards app.

And that’s not all! Recent events like “Naq’a” have brought visitors of all ages together for hands-on recycling workshops, creative games, and interactive activities that make learning about the environment seriously fun.

So next time you finish your favorite bottled drink, think twice before tossing the cap. Drop it off instead; and become part of Abu Dhabi’s eco-conscious movement.
