New route from Abu Dhabi to Peshawar adds more travel options for Pakistan-bound flyers in 2025
There’s something exciting brewing in the skies!
Etihad Airways has announced a brand-new route that’s giving travellers in the region something to smile about.
This autumn, the UAE’s national airline is launching direct flights from Abu Dhabi to Peshawar, making it even easier to connect with family, explore Pakistan, or jet off on business.
Set to launch on 29 September 2025, this new route marks Etihad’s fourth gateway to Pakistan, joining Karachi, Islamabad and Lahore.
At first, expect five flights a week, with daily service kicking in from 22 November.
So whether you’re planning ahead for winter travels or looking to sneak in a late-autumn getaway, Peshawar just made it onto your radar.
Why Peshawar?
Aside from being rich in history, colour, and culture, Peshawar is a key travel hub, linking domestic travellers and international jetsetters alike.
The city’s Bacha Khan International Airport (PEW) is well connected and now, thanks to Etihad, even more so.

The new flights will depart from Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi (AUH), operated by the airline’s sleek and comfy Airbus A320s, which come with a cosy eight-seat Business Class and 150 Economy seats. Translation: award-winning Etihad service, whether you’re flying for work or a long-awaited family reunion.
More than just one new route…
This isn’t a one-off. Peshawar is actually Etihad’s sixteenth new destination in 2025, part of a global growth spurt that includes launches to places like Prague, Warsaw, Atlanta, and Tunis, plus boosted frequencies to European faves like Paris and Madrid.
And if you’re just passing through Abu Dhabi? The airline’s Abu Dhabi Stopover programme means you can turn a layover into a mini vacation, with two nights at premium hotels totally on the house. Not a bad way to break up a long-haul trip.
