Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority restarts bus routes connecting major cities, following closures due to historic UAE storm
All aboard as the Abu Dhabi-Dubai inter-city bus service hits the road once again
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has resumed more inter-city public bus services, including Route E100 connecting Al Ghubaiba and Abu Dhabi central bus stations, Route E102 between Al Jafiliya and Mussafah Shabiya bus stations, and H02 connecting Dubai Mall and Hatta bus station.
These services were temporarily closed due to the worst storm to hit the UAE in 75 years.
In addition to these routes, the RTA had also announced the resumption of services along routes like E201 from Al Ghubaiba Bus Station to Al Ain Bus Station, E700 from Union Bus Station to Fujairah Bus Station, E315 from Etisalat Metro Station to Muwailah (Sharjah) Bus Station, and E411 from Etisalat Metro Station to Ajman Bus Station.

The worst storm in 75 years
The recent reopening of these inter-city bus services comes after a period of closure due to the severe weather conditions.
The UAE experienced its most substantial rainfall in 75 years, with unprecedented downpours sweeping across various regions since Sunday evening, breaking records since data collection began in 1949.

The National Centre of Meteorology reported that the record-breaking rainfall occurred within a 24-hour period, ending at 9 pm on Tuesday.
The stormy weather not only caused disruptions to public transportation but also led to damage across the country.
Trees and balcony furniture were among the things broken by the volatile weather conditions.
The UAE has been dealing with the aftermath of the storm, with authorities working to restore services and address the impacts of the extreme weather event.
Despite the challenges posed by the storm, the resumption of inter-city bus services is a positive step towards normalcy for residents and commuters.
