Catch these two amazing new creatures at The National Aquarium Abu Dhabi

The latest residents of The National Aquarium Abu Dhabi have been shipped in all the way from Korea

We know Abu Dhabi likes to jump the cue when it comes to many things, and the city has pulled off yet another significant coup by procuring two of the world’s most elusive marine creatures at National Aquarium Abu Dhabi.

Earlier this week the crew at the National Aquarium Abu Dhabi greeted two African Manatees into their new home in a move which is set to cause a big stir in the city.

Located at Al Qana, where there is an abundance of fun things to do, the aquarium will become the first ambassadors for their rare species in the region and there are only a few facilities throughout the world who currently house this special marina life animal.

Described as the ‘snow leopard of the sea’, these Western African native species travelled from Seoul in Korea which had been the previous habitat. The wondrous Manatees were closely monitored throughout the trip with meticulous care.

In addition to their crucial role as ambassadors for their species and contributors to vital conservation efforts, the two African Manatees are poised to become beloved icons in Abu Dhabi, set to captivate the hearts of visitors with their gentle and fascinating behaviour.

In alignment with its broader mission of promoting marine conservation and raising awareness about vulnerable species, the National Aquarium Abu Dhabi has generously contributed to the African Aquatic Conservation Fund to support projects focused on preserving Manatees in West Africa.

The Aquarium will become available to the public from the first day of Eid Al Fitr if you want to witness firsthand the captivating beauty of the Manatees and marvel at their uniqueness while gaining an insightful education from the experts.

The National Aquarium Abu Dhabi promises a wonderful day out for all the family and the inclusion of these two new members will surely add to the many different and wonderful species they currently look after.

Don’t waste any more time, get down to the National Aquarium to catch a glimpse first hand of these amazing creatures!
