Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s just a flying taxi in the capital!
The skies will really be the limit in Abu Dhabi in 2026 as the city welcomes flying taxis in a move that was announced by Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) and US-based Archer Aviation this week.
The announcement represents another significant coup for Abu Dhabi who will become the first international launch partner for Archer, a leader in electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft.

Authorities have already visited Archer Aviation’s global headquarters in California to inspect its Midnight aircraft and learn about their certification progress with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Their goal is to approve Archer’s air taxi to fly in the UAE as soon as it is certified by the FAA.
The service is thought to be a piloted, four-passenger aircraft designed to perform rapid back-to-back flights with minimal charge time between flights. Furthermore, Archer is working with different industry partners in a bid to commercialise the venture.
We hope that time will fly until these new revolutionary taxis hit our skies!
