One of Abu Dhabi’s most well-known amateur football clubs are looking for new members as Abu Dhabi’s Wolfhounds gear up for the 2023/2024 season.

The club, based in the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi, was founded in 2012 by a group of passionate players and fans of the game. Their reasoning for establishing the club was to represent the Irish and International community and provide them with a team they could feel part of and meet new friends.

The club also provide a chance to exercise and most of all provide them with an opportunity to play the game in a club that prides itself on its values of inclusivity, a sense of belonging, respect, and providing something for everyone and all abilities and age.

Abu Dhabi Wolfhounds is a “family” club with a network within that supports the social and friendship needs of ex-pats living and working in Abu Dhabi.

Since its formation the club has grown year on year. Today the club has two amateur senior men’s teams, a social men’s and women’s team, and an over 35s “Vets” team. Many of their loyal past and retired members continue to support the family club with off-the field administration, coaching and committee duties.

The club welcomes members both playing and non-playing from all walks of life, genders and nationalities. Players range in age from 18 to 60 and come from working backgrounds that include those employed in education, construction, oil and gas, government and other.
