There’s no need to be bored with all these things to do
The heat is on and being outdoors is not really an option, unless you have to, of course!
But worry not as Abu Dhabi has lots of family activities on hand which promise to keep you cool.
Heading to the mall might sound boring but when it’s a mall that is at the heart of the community, you just know that there’s bound to be activities galore.
Over in Abu Dhabi Mall there are tons of kids’ entertainment centres, offering rides, games and more.
And then there’s Ripe Market, which has headed indoors to beat the summer heat.
Every Saturday and Sunday from 10am until 9pm, browse the stalls laden with wonderful handmade fashion, some art, and accessories.
You could, of course, escape from prison at Prison Break in Abu Dhabi Mall. Based on the premise of famous escape show, Fort Boyard, Prison Island – Beat the Bars will see you and your friends work together as a team to solve tricky challenges across unique cells.
Set over 1,000 square metres, the complex features 26 cells ranked according to difficulty with cell worth a certain number of points.

Over at the The Galleria, there’s a ton of family activities with live stage shows, meet-and-greets and themed play zones for little ones with all their favourite characters.
From 11 to 20 August Dora the Explorer, SpongeBob Squarepants, Shimmer and Shine, and Chase and Marshall from Paw Patrol will take to the stage with the Nickelodeon Rocks play zone open until 27 August.
If that wasn’t enough, the newly opened Game Over Escape Rooms adds to an already exceptional line-up of exclusive entertainment including National Geographic Ultimate Explorer, Zero Latency Virtual Reality and the largest theatre in the emirate a 21-screen VOX Cinemas with IMAX, perfect for new releases like Oppenheimer and Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One.
If you are missing the heat, or indeed, enjoy being in it, Active on Al Maryah Island is the place for you.
As well as indoor activities, there’s also a host of outdoor activities too, including tennis, paddle tennis, volleyball, football, basketball and netball.
