It’s another massive win for Etihad Airways as the Environmental Airline of the Year!
AirlineRatings.com has officially crowned the UAE’s flagship carrier as the greenest airline for the third time in a row, ranking eighth in the rating agency’s Top Twenty airlines.
Etihad Airways Sustainability Report is a benchmark for the industry and demonstrates the potential advancements for sustainable aviation through a wide range of initiatives.
Amongst the many highlights of Etihad Airways’ illustrious achievements is the launch of the world’s most comprehensive industry-wide testing and innovation programme.
The airline was also the first to secure commercial finance based on verified compliance with the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations

That aside, the airline has also partnered with Boeing, Safran and NASA for eight days of specialised testing to enhance safety and reduce CO2 emissions and noise as part of the 2020 ecoDemonstrator programme.
And of course, who can forget the massive Etihad Mangroves Forrest project to establish carbon-absorbing forests in every country Etihad operates.
Another winner from the UAE’s fleet was Emirates, making it to the fifth position.
