The 12th World Environmental Education Congress (WEEC2024) is making waves in Abu Dhabi, hosted under the patronage of HH Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
With global leaders in attendance, the event opens its doors at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) until 2 February, themed “Connecting People, Creating Tomorrow.”

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan emphasises the UAE’s commitment to environmental progress, stating, “We lead by example in fostering environmental literacy and empowering communities.”
Her Excellency Shaikha Salem Al Dhaheri echoes this sentiment, highlighting the crucial role of education in achieving environmental objectives.

The event features notable speakers, including HH Sheikha Shamma bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan and Prof. Mario Salomone, shedding light on the path to a sustainable future.
With plenary sessions, workshops, and youth initiatives, WEEC2024 builds a roadmap for lasting change, concluding with field trips to explore Abu Dhabi’s ecological sites.
