All the world’s best players are heading to the capital this December
As the clock ticks closer to four days of high-octane tennis action in a few weeks’ time, the World Tennis League, supported by Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC) and in collaboration with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT) and Miral, today announced the teams and match schedules for its third season.
Slated to be held from December 19-22 at the Etihad Arena, this much-awaited league will feature four teams – Eagles (the defending champions), Hawks, Falcons, and Kites – each boasting of some of the finest tennis players globally. This year, all teams have been refreshed for a revised composition, elevating the excitement and making the match outcome more unpredictable than ever!
Star-studded squads for Season 3
- Eagles – Iga Swiatek, Barbora Krejčíková, Hubert Hurkacz, Casper Ruud
- Hawks – Aryna Sabalenka, Mirra Andreeva, Taylor Fritz, Sumit Nagal
- Falcons – Elena Rybakina, Caroline Garcia, Daniil Medvedev, Andrey Rublev
- Kites – Jasmine Paolini, Paula Badosa, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Nick Kyrgios
Touted as ‘The Greatest Show on Court,’ this year’s lineup features Olympic champions, Grand Slam winners, and several top-ranked players, promising an unforgettable experience for tennis fans.
The four-day event promises to be even bigger and better than last year with a number of music superstars set to perform at concerts throughout the spectacle. They include Akon, Sean Paul, Anastacia and Bryan Adams.
Among the standout participants are Women’s World No. 1 Iga Świątek, fresh from her third consecutive French Open title and a Paris 2024 Olympic bronze medal, and World No. 2 Aryna Sabalenka, the reigning US Open champion.

They’ll be joined by 2024 Wimbledon champion Barbora Krejčíková and Women’s Doubles Paris 2024 Gold Medalist Jasmine Paolini, both making their WTL debut.
On the men’s side, World No. 5 Daniil Medvedev and World No. 6 Andrey Rublev, members of the 2023 title-winning Eagles team, are set to return.
They will be joined by 2024 US Open runner-up Taylor Fritz and Aussie star Nick Kyrgios, among others.
Last year’s edition drew over 20,000 fans and was broadcast in more than 125 countries, further cementing WTL’s global appeal.
