Strength, endurance, and community collide with the return of HYROX, the world’s fastest-growing fitness format
The wait is almost over – HYROX Abu Dhabi is officially set to return to the UAE capital as part of the upcoming 2026/2027 season, bringing one of the world’s fastest-growing fitness competitions back to the region.
While a date hasn’t been officially announced yet, there’s no harm in starting training ASAP.
Known for blending strength, endurance, and high-intensity functional training, HYROX had its debut in the capital last year over the summer at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi).
Over 3,500 athletes from 124 nationalities competed in Abu Dhabi, in a full-body test of fitness where athletes move through a series of structured workout stations, each designed to push both physical power and mental resilience to the limit.
And it all ends with a final, all-out sprint to the finish line.
A global fitness community in the UAE capital
Once again, Abu Dhabi will transform into a hub for the international HYROX community, welcoming athletes from across the region and beyond.
The event is expected to draw seasoned competitors as well as first-timers looking to test themselves in a format that has rapidly become a global fitness phenomenon.
Set in the heart of the capital, the race atmosphere is known for being electric, part competition, part festival, and fully driven by community energy.
From cheering spectators to synchronised workout zones, HYROX events are designed to feel as much like a live experience as a sporting challenge.

Unlike traditional races, HYROX follows a fixed format: participants complete a series of running intervals mixed with functional workout stations such as sled pushes, rowing, wall balls, and burpee variations.

This consistency has helped fuel its popularity, turning it into a benchmark event for everyday gym-goers and elite athletes alike.
