The fitness fanatic has trained her way to happiness and is now ready to take on one of the biggest challenges of her life
Chloe Robyn Wilson’s fitness journey has been a transformative one, beginning in her mid-twenties during the early days of COVID-19.
At that time, she was facing mental health struggles, unhealthy habits, and a lack of self-care.
“I realised I needed to make a change,” she shares, reflecting on the pivotal moment. “So, I focused on improving my physical and mental well-being.”
It was then that she started with small runs, gradually increasing the distance each week. Over time, she became hooked on the positive effects of exercise, not just on her body, but on her mind as well. This dedication and determination eventually led her to complete her first marathon in 2021.
Her training schedule, however, is anything but easy.
“Gosh, it’s a lot!” Chloe laughs, acknowledging the challenge of juggling two jobs and an intense training routine. “I train about eight hours a week and have an amazing coach guiding me. It’s definitely not easy, but a mix of discipline, focus, early mornings, good friends who train with me, and a supportive boyfriend who cheers me on keeps me going.”
When she’s not working or training, you can find her in the pool, on her bike, or out running. “Or eating jam crumpets, because I’m absolutely starving 95% of the time!” she adds with a grin.
With an Ironman in sight, Chloe knows that the mental and physical challenges of such a long race will push her to the limit. But she’s already drawing from her past experiences.
“A big part of this comes from my first marathon,” she explains. “I thought it would never end. The mental pain was brutal, but it did end; and just like every race, this one will too. It’s a celebration when you cross the finish line, so try and enjoy it!”
For Chloe, the hardest part isn’t the race itself, but the consistency required in training. “The hardest part is the training, showing up consistently week after week,” she says.

Living in Abu Dhabi, Chloe has access to some of the best facilities for her training. “To build on your running, I’d recommend joining my girls’ run club,” she suggests. “Every week, a group of girls runs together.”
For those who want to take their training further, she’s got some local tips. “For cycling and swimming, stay tuned on @yallaabudhabi, where I’ll be posting all my favourite spots in the coming months!”
As she prepares for the big day, Chloe is also focusing on perfecting her race-day nutrition and hydration. “I’m still working on nailing this!” she admits. “We’re testing different gels, drinks, and snacks during training to ensure I’m fueling well for race day in July. In my 2021 marathon, my fueling was a disaster, and boy, did I feel it!”
While crossing the finish line will be a monumental achievement, Chloe isn’t setting too much pressure on herself when it comes to the timing of her race.
“I’ll be thrilled just to cross the finish line!” she says with a smile. “I’m not putting too much pressure on myself regarding timing for the first one. What’s most important is that I enjoy it and feel strong throughout.”
For Chloe, the journey is just as important as the destination, and her mindset is all about enjoying the process, finding strength, and embracing the challenges that come with each step of the way.
