Go unreal: The 2022 Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is pushing boundaries and perspectives

The race will be held at Yas Marina Circuit until at least 2030.

Formula 1 weekend is like no other in Abu Dhabi – deafening roars from slick motor engines, booming, kaleidoscopic firework displays lighting up the night sky over the water and the biggest acts from the world of music rocking the Etihad Park stage.

The biggest show in town is still some eight months away, but many are already revving up for the 2022 edition when it will be hoped that it can live up to the dramatic finish at Yas Marina Circuit last December, when Max Verstappen snatched the race and the Formula 1 Driver’s title from Lewis Hamilton’s grasp.

And while CEO of the Abu Dhabi Motorsports Management, Saif Al Naoimi, cannot promise to replicate the scenes of 12 December 2021 on the track, he says fans are in for a treat this season.

“Fans should expect an unreal experience,” says Saif Al Naoimi from the Yas Conference Centre at Yas Marina Circuit.

Innovation will be happening on and off track with Formula 2 and Formula 4 UAE once again returning to the schedule alongside a special vintage F1 cars race offering a glimpse of Formula 1 of days gone by.

Fans themselves will be able to take in a new perspective with the new multi-Grandstand experience – a three-day F1 combo ticket that allows you to watch the action from three different grandstands over three days.

With the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix locked in as the ultimate race for the Formula 1 season for the next 10 years, Saif highlights the great importance of the event in bringing the capital to a world audience.

“The Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is a platform for Abu Dhabi. It’s a window for the world to see Abu Dhabi and what we do and how we do things.

“Last year, [it was] the biggest sporting event of the year so definitely it is an opportunity in which we showcase Abu Dhabi, a platform for sponsors and partners.

“It is an atmosphere of festivities throughout Abu Dhabi; we expect more of that [kind of atmosphere] and we are looking to innovate, to grow and provide our guests with a better experience year on year.”
