This is your sign to get out and get active
Abu Dhabi Cricket & Sports Hub is opening its doors in a big way with a new community initiative designed to make sport more accessible than ever.
The venue has launched ‘Sports Hub Cares’, a six-week programme running until 31 May 2026, offering free access to its world-class facilities during selected off-peak hours.
The idea behind the launch is simple as organisers want to remove barriers, encourage participation, and get more people active across the capital.
The initiative is a mix of popular sports that residents can enjoy at no cost. From padel and tennis to squash, swimming, and cricket, sessions are being made available throughout the week, with dedicated timings for each activity.
Phase 1 of the initiative, which runs until April 29, invites individuals and families to enjoy complimentary access to a variety of premium sporting facilities. Sessions as follows:
- Complimentary swim sessions daily from 9am – 12noon
- Complimentary padel sessions on weekdays from 9am – 12noon, with rental rackets available
- Complimentary tennis sessions on weekdays from 9am – 12noon
- Complimentary squash sessions on weekdays from 9am – 12noon
- Complimentary weekend junior and senior cricket sessions from 9.30am – 10.30am, every Saturday, in partnership with Zayed Cricket Academy and led by an ICC-accredited coach

Families are also being brought into the spotlight with a special one-day event this Friday, 24 April, where the iconic Zayed Cricket Stadium will host the Playfest Carnival, a festival-style junior sports day for children aged 4 to 11.
The event will feature football, rugby, and netball, along with interactive activities delivered by community partners, all focused on fun, inclusion, and participation.
According to Abu Dhabi Cricket & Sports Hub CEO Matthew Boucher, the overall initiative is about creating stronger community connections through sport and making facilities more open and welcoming to everyone.
“Sports Hub Cares is about stepping up for our community when it matters most. At its heart, the initiative is about connection, bringing people together, fostering wellbeing, and reinforcing sport’s role as a powerful social driver.”
Boucher added: “This initiative represents a defining shift in how ADCSH engages with the Abu Dhabi community, uniting our efforts under one cohesive platform to maximise reach and simplify access. From aspiring athletes to casual participants, the message is clear: sport is for everyone.”
These free sessions may just be the gentle nudge you need to get out and get active before the summer heat arrives.
