UAE public sector embraces innovative, flexible Ramadan work hours and enhanced remote options for 2025
The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) has unveiled the 2025 Ramadan working hours for the UAE public sector.
This year, government employees will work from 9am to 2.30pm from Monday to Thursday and from 9am until midday on Fridays.

In an effort to accommodate the unique needs of the holy month, ministries and federal agencies are permitted to continue with flexible or remote work schedules.

Additionally, employees are allowed to work remotely on Fridays throughout Ramadan, provided that no more than 70 per cent of an entity’s total workforce takes advantage of this option.
Ramadan is predicted to begin on Saturday 1 March, although official confirmation from the UAE government – based on moon sightings by local astronomers – is expected later this week.
During Ramadan, Muslims are encouraged to elevate their spiritual and physical commitment to their faith through fasting.
This practice involves abstaining from food and drink from dawn until dusk for a period of 29 or 30 days.
