It’s a first for an Arab astronaut, making UAE the 10th country to undertake EVA
Emirati astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi is doing some literal out-of-the-world things, putting the UAE on the map in a big way.
And now, he’s preparing for his first spacewalk, marking another milestone for the Arab world. Scheduled for 28 April, the event will go down as a historic one for the country.

Taking to his official Twitter handle, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai’s Crown Prince and Chairman of The Executive Council, said it’s the first spacewalk by an Arab astronaut.

“This will make the UAE the 10th country to undertake Extravehicular Activity (EVA) on the International Space Station,” Sheikh Hamdan added.
