The market is open seven-days-a-week.
One of Abu Dhabi’s most treasured landmarks, Mina Zayed Fish Market, has officially reopened.
Announced by The Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT), the new fish market will consist of eight tempting restaurants, 44 fish cleaning stations and commercial spaces and services.
In addition to a supermarket with a variety of services, there are 104 fresh fish stalls, eight dry fish stalls, four fruits and vegetable stalls, and three commercial kiosks.
Offering a unique shopping experience, the design incorporates themes associated with the legacy of Abu Dhabi’s fishing trade and preserves more than 40 years of history.
The new market will be open Monday to Friday from 7am to 9pm and Saturday to Sunday from 7am to 10pm.
Speaking at the opening of the market, H.E. Dr. Salem Al Kaabi, Director General of Operations Affairs at the DMT, said: “The new venue reflects the legacy of Abu Dhabi’s fish trading and fishing industry, which is well-known in the region. DMT considers the preservation of cultural elements to be an integral part of the emirate’s urban development strategy to achieve sustainable development.”
“The newly opened fish market will undoubtedly be a significant attraction for the residents and visitors of the emirate due to its design, apart from contributing to the growth of businesses related to the fish market.”

But the fish market is not the only exciting development taking place at the historic Mina Zayed.
As part of the Mina Zayed redevelopment project, the fishers’ port is to be revamped including the renovation of the fish market, fruit and vegetable market, meat market, carpet market, dates market, and wholesale market.
