Bad weather conditions anticipated for Abu Dhabi again

Stand by as the authorities may issue another weather warning to residents about their movements around the capital and beyond

The weather conditions in Abu Dhabi are expected to take a turn for the worse at the weekend

Okay guys, it’s time to batten down the hatches, again, as more bad weather in Abu Dhabi is anticipated!

Less than two weeks since stormy weather caused the city to come to a standstill and forced many very popular events to be postponed, more treacherous conditions are expected this weekend.

According to the National Centre of Meteorology, from this Sunday onwards rain, thunder and lightning are forecasted for a couple of days at least.

Stand by as the authorities may issue another weather warning to residents about their movements around the capital and beyond.

Two weeks ago the Government closed public parks and some public beaches, and also urged people to avoid trips to the desert and wadis.

Last time out the ever popular Abu Dhabi Cycling Challenge was postponed, as was the annual Middle East Irish GAA championships which was due to welcome over 1,000 athletes. The latter will now take place over the weekend, 18 and 19 April.

If the forecasted weather does arrive in earnest, then residents will have to show caution travelling around the emirate once again, with driving conditions expected to become difficult.
