Etihad’s newest flights are going to be really fly!

A newly relaunched route to Kolkata and additional flight to NYC are just the start.

According to a report by Arabian Business, starting 26 March, 2023, Etihad Airways will fly daily on a relaunched Abu Dhabi–Kolkata route. This provides seven weekly nonstop services to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport.

The flights will be operated with an Airbus A320 aircraft, offering Etihad travellers eight seats in business class and 150 in economy.

The return to Kolkata comes at the same time as they’re doubling up their flights to New York as well, making for better access between India and the United States via Abu Dhabi.

Starting 24 April, 2023, the airline will fly twice a day, seven days a week, on the Abu Dhabi – New York route, providing a total of 14 weekly nonstop services to John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK).

The flights will be operated with both Airbus A350 and Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, two of the most efficient in the world, with significantly less fuel burn and CO2 emissions than previous-generation twin aisle aircraft.

The resumption of flights to Kolkata means Etihad now flies to 14 destinations across the Indian Subcontinent in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Maldives.

The airline said the move follows a surge in demand for air travel across the airline’s network and customer feedback for the return of one of the most remarkable commercial flying experiences in the sky.
