Mouthwatering vegan desserts delivered straight to your door in Abu Dhabi

Veganuary is here and desserts just got even more delicious.

Here comes January or should we say veganuary?  It is that time of the year when most of us are trying to get healthy after the festive blowout but why not take it a step further and venture into being a vegan for the month?

Sounds too challenging?  Think again!

While lots of ingredients that feature prominently in the most indulgent desserts can contain some form of animal, a number of enterprising companies – local, homegrown concepts and international players – are now firmly pushing their recyclable cutlery into delicious plant-forward desserts.

Let’s take a look!

The Brooklyn Creamery

Perhaps leading the charge in a super indulgent, super tasty treat to have at home or on the go. This New York-inspired dessert innovator quickly added vegan ice cream to its roster, after launching in early 2020. Based on coconut and almond milk, flavours include classics such as vanilla, chocolate, espresso, and salted peanut butter, as well as fruit-based pops for an even healthier treat.

House of Pops

Talking of pops, there’s a new locally-grown company that is also set to shake up the vegan dessert sector – and healthy snacking. House of Pops has a range of five ingredient, all-natural ice pops. These fruit bars are a fantastic way to get one of your recommended ‘five-a-day’ without feeling like you’re losing out on enjoyment or flavour.

Marks & Spencer

Recent exciting news across town is that High Street stalwart Marks & Spencer has launched its ‘Plant Kitchen’ plant-based range here. You’ll find the supermarket’s chilled section now includes chocolate caramel iced lollies, chocolate and vanilla iced dessert cones, and two flavours of ice cream – chocolate and raspberry ripple. And what’s cool is that this British store is now available via El Grocer and Deliveroo.

Granny Gothards

Also brand new to the UAE is Granny Gothards sorbets, another refreshing, zingy, fruit-forward dessert option – currently only available in the UAE via Kibson’s online ordering system. This brand, established in 2012, offers some great flavours, especially the ginger, passion fruit and blood orange flavours.

Vegan Life

Veganlife cakes is a well-established local brand providing utterly delicious, completely indulgent vegan cakes – even a multi-tiered wedding cake – you won’t be disappointed. Order online for next day delivery. We recommend trying one of the ‘vegan boxes’ for a local spin, get the basbousa, for an international treat, the brownies are unmissable.

Coco Yogo

And finally, no mention of tasty vegan desserts in Abu Dhabi would ever be complete without mentioning Coco Logo. One of the first local desserts we tried and when a craving hits, they’ll deliver right to your door, fast. If ever you though veganism was about hardship or a lack of indulgent food, Coco Yogo is a perfect example of food that delights the sense, the soul and the conscience. We recommend the chocolate salted caramel cheesecake or the date and orange.
