A new home for gastronomes of Lebanese fare.
There’s a new member to the Abu Dhabi culinary family.
Taking its name from the picturesque village that is surrounded by the iconic Cedar trees of the Barouk Nature Reserve, barouk brings epicures on a gastronomical journey of superb cuisine from the region.
Nestling on the ground floor of the Crowne Plaza Hotel on Yas Island, the restaurant serves up authentic fare from the glorious, green mountains of Al Shouf.
Team Yalla was at the grand opening of the restaurant on Wednesday night (1 September) where the menu crafted by Chef Abdulkhader Zeitoun made its debut.
Being a Lebanese restaurant, there’s the usual suspects of cold and hot mezze like warak inab (stuffed vine leaves with tomato, parsley and rice), hummus istanbuli (chickpea puree, garnished with chopped tomato bell pepper and pine seeds) and kebbet baytna (traditional kibbeh fried and filled with cherry, meat, onion and pine seeds), all of which make a very welcome and tasty appearance.
Make sure to tuck into the crumb fried halloumi cheese that is served with onion, tomato and dry apricot.
Signature dishes to tickle the tastebuds include the meat-filled Mashawi consisting of lamb teka, kofta kebab, lamb cutlets shish taouk and arayes with Antali bread, as well as Barramundi fish that is grilled and served with French fries and tartare sauce.
Visitors to the venue will find a spacious, minimalist interior punctuated with traditional mashrabiya screens complimented by a beautiful, landscape terrace, perfect for when the mercury on the thermometer reaches optimum levels in the winter months.
A stage where a DJ spins the decks, pumping out reinterpreted classic and modern hits, sets the mood for an upbeat evening.
There will be even more exciting news coming from barouk so keep your eyes trained on Yalla – Abu Dhabi Life for the latest updates.
