From trash to treasure — Yas Mall’s eco-creative fest invites kids to upcycle with purpose
Calling all young creators, eco-champions and future planet-savers!
If you’ve got kids who love to get messy, build things, and make a real difference while doing it, clear your calendar for 29 and 30 May– because Miral Recycles is back at Yas Mall, and it’s bigger, bolder, and greener than ever.
Hosted at The Welcome Pavilion at The Fountains, this free event is tailor-made for children and teens aged eight to 16, offering two fun-packed days of hands-on sustainability magic.

Forget dull lectures – this is about getting creative with waste, turning old items into funky, functional treasures.
Think:
- Pen holders made from plastic bottles
- Mobile phone stands crafted from upcycled odds and ends
- Glass bottle painting that’ll make your kitchen jealous
- Egg tray toys and cardboard roll masterpieces
- Flower planting in repurposed plastic pots (yes, real flowers!)
And if that’s not cool enough already – this year’s event features a jaw-dropping Superman sculpture made entirely from recycled materials, contributed by students and families during the festival. It’s a massive team effort that proves art and eco-consciousness go hand in hand.
All of this is part of Miral’s CSR mission, blending Environment, Education, and Art to empower the next generation of changemakers. It’s not just about learning—it’s about doing, exploring, and having a blast while helping the planet.
When & where?
- 29 May: 3pm – 5pm
